GNSS Vertical Land Motion Timeseries - Info

Station data products

Level Description Interval Availability
0 hourly U-blox binary RAWX files 1 sec gzipped
1 daily RINEX version 3 observation files 10 sec Hatanaka/gzipped

The Hatanaka compressed RINEX version 3 observation files are pushed to the data center every morning. The gzip compressed u-blox RAWX hourly data files and daily Hatanaka compressed RINEX 3 files are archived on the station logger uSD card for a period of about 1.5 years. When 95% disk capacity is reached the oldest files are deleted (but the Hatanaka compressed daily RINEX files are still available from the data center). This is the typical situation for the station using the ubxlogger software, other installations may employ different standards.

Level 2, 3, 4 and 5 data products are available in three flavours; one using only GPS, with GPS+GLONASS and using all available GNSS systems GPS+GLONASS+GALILEO+BEIDOU.

Level 2, 3 and 4 data products are the results of a baseline processing using one or more external GNSS reference stations. This may result in multiple baselines for each site (e.g. when more than one GNSS receiver is used at the site, and/or more than one reference station is used). The strategy is to process all possible baselines and combine them later (for the level 5 product).

The level 2 data product is the result of RTKLib processing.

Level 3 products are based on the output of the RTKLib processing. The residuals from the processing are used to compute corrections for the atmospheric and antenna phase delays. The estimated atmospheric and antenna delays are used to produce corrected time series as level 4 products.

The level 5 products is the final land motion series. These are a combination of the multiple baselines (if available) corrected for the motion of the external reference stations themselves. The motion of the external reference stations is deduced from another processing chain using a long time span of data and involves estimation vertical velocity to provide for the correct long term trend.

Level 2, 3 and 4 product are updated on a daily to weekly basis, depending on the availability of external reference station data. Currently, the updates are done on a weekly basis, every Tuesday at 8:00 UTC. Level 5 products are typically produced on a monthly to yearly basis.
