NAM GPS subsidence monitoring network

The "Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij" (NAM) operates a GPS network in the North of the Netherlands for monitoring subsidence due to natural gas extraction.

For more information on the stations or fields click on the map.

The network consists of monitoring and reference stations. About 30 of the monitoring stations are Integrated Geodetic Reference Stations (IGS), which are also equiped with corner reflectors for Inteferrometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR).

Many of the monitoring stations are owned by NAM. These are operated, on behalf of NAM, by 06-GPS. 06-GPS is also responsible for the data handling and processing of the whole network, and provides several of the reference stations. The TU Delft has carried out independent checks on the processing methodology, does regular analyses of the GPS time series using dedicated time series analysis software, and acts as a data hub for scientific studies of the data.
